Ester Of Rosin is type of polyol ester of abietic acid. The polyol ester are commonly glycerol and pentaerythritol. Polyol Rosin ester is a light yellow transparent solid, softening point in the 90 ~ 110 ℃, acid value of 10 to 20. For paint, rosin soap made by the quality of the system were slightly higher. The softening point of pentaerythritol rosin ester is higher than that of glycerol ester of rosin, and the drying performance, hardness and water resistance of varnish is better than that of glycerol rosin ester. Such as the use of polymerized rosin or hydrogenated rosin as the raw material made of the corresponding ester, reducing the tendency to change color, other properties have improved. The softening point of the polymerized rosin ester is higher than that of the rosin ester and the softening point of the hydrogenated rosin ester is lowered.
